Animal Friendly Pregnancy detection with:-
Freewave Doppler Pregnancy Detectors
Freewave Doppler pregnancy detectors have been marketed in several versions since 1994. All instruments use the doppler principle to detect blood movement within vessels in the foetal heart or umbilical and uterine arteries.
There are two families of Freewave Doppler instruments.
The first family is powered by an integral rechargeable battery and is supplied with a mains powered charger.
The second family is powered by a replaceable alkaline battery located in the headset.
Both instrument types use the same proven electronic circuitry and use the convex probe face plate. All are supplied with a carry bag, coupling medium and operating instructions on a CD.
There are three versions available within each family.
The first is for use externally and was designed specifically for pigs but has been found useful for detecting pregnancy with other similar size animals. Pregnancy can be detected as early as 16 days after service or insemination.
The second is used internally via the rectum. This probe is used mainly for cattle but can be used on other large animals where the vessels are too deep to be monitored externally. Pregnancy can be detected approximately 40 days after service or insemination.
The third was designed for use internally via the rectum with sheep. It has a smaller probe end than the cattle type probe. Pregnancy can be detected as early as 20 days after service or insemination.
